Shima-uta is a style of song from Okinawa that has been sung fromgeneration to generation in the islands, even surviving the devastation of the war.  This is the style of song performed by Kotobuki, who compose their own original shima-uta pieces.  Kotobuki themselves come from Okinawa and from Hiroshima and have performed at festivals for human rights, the environment and peace.  They have toured worldwide, including appearances in Estonia and a recent peace boat voyage to a Jordanian refugee camp. They send a message of peace to the countries of the world through their performances and songs.
